8 weeks old!

The girls are 8 weeks old today!! They are doing fantastic! I started to go back to work this week and it has been hard. I never thought I would be the mom who really misses her children and thinks about them a lot. While driving out to the school to provide OT, I missed an exit (or two) because I was thinking about them. I was almost 2 hours late on Monday morning because I did not want to leave them. I know it was even harder for MDM to leave them on Sunday night. We miss him so much! I have been sending him pictures and we've been doing FaceTime on the computer/phone to keep in touch.

Since the girls have been born, I have been reflecting on all the advice given to me by other mothers (of singletons and multiples). The lactation people told me I needed to buy a deep freeze for all the breast milk I would create.  haha. The developmental pediatrician's brochure said to do tummy time after every diaper change. We change them before every feed. Although a HUGE advocate of tummy time - I am lucky to get from the diaper change to warmed milk without tears and usually I have two girls in my arms.  When MDM and I took a walk with the girls - we definitely caused a raucous in the neighborhood. We had cars stopping and asking about the triplets. One lady said she felt sorry for us because we had triplets. I so wanted to say in return that I felt sorry for her because of her flabby arms, but instead I said she shouldn't feel that way because we are very happy with our trio. I could also say "blessed" here, but I think that is such a trite word these days.

The girls are eating and growing so much! My mom was very surprised in how much they have changed in the two weeks she returned to Corpus. They have stronger cries and they are much more alert. They are staying awake a bit more as well.

Along with returning to work, I have returned to working out to get rid of my extra weight. Before my pregnancy I was in very good shape - doing Crossfit 5-6 times a week and running about 3-4 miles 3 times a week.  So my first two Crossfit workouts were very humbling. Not too mention just finding some workout clothes I can fit into. lol.  My friend Katie has been great in pushing me and cheering me on during the workouts. I did manage to do my first full sit-ups on Monday. I was very excited, although full disclosure, I had two 30lb dumb bells on my feet to assist me. It feels very good to be able to sweat again and has helped relieve some stress. MDM and my mom have been very encouraging in giving me time to go workout.

Enjoy the pictures! Time to sleep for the night Doula is here!! Good night!

Can you guess who is who???

Denver Paige got some tummy time today!

How Iyla sleeps - I think she was sending her daddy a hug!
