Happy New Year!!!

2013 was a great year for us! We successfully survived the first year of triplets!
Here are some numbers (excuse my math, I was a studio art major) from 2013 for you to enjoy....
8 broken dishes
1 cold per child
10 new teeth
6 containers of Triple Paste diaper cream
80 lbs of coffee consumed by Mia and Elizabeth
~10, 900 dirty diapers
300+ cans of Neosure formula
6 weeks of breastfeeding triplets (yay me!!)
200+ loads of laundry
1 new washer
10 ft x 10 ft playroom
3 walkers!

The Scott (Jeremy is MDM's childhood best friend) family came to visit last night while Denver and Roberta were here also. Aubrey (8) and Brady (6) had fun playing with the girls in the playroom! Aubrey gave all the girls laundry basket rides.

We have had a wonderful time with MDM over the holiday. I took off some time with work so we could maximize the 6 days he was here. Both sides of our families came to celebrate with us! The girls are still battling colds and teething. The combination is not fun, but they have been sleeping so that is good.

Here is a run down on each girl:
Nadine is very proficient at walking and will be running soon. She is fast. Nadine is babbling up a storm. She loves to look/babble at books and talk during nap time. She prefers to sit sideways in her feeding table chair so she can get a better view of Denver Paige's food. Nadine tends to overstuff her mouth with food. Nadine will eat most everything. She loves to walk and carry objects in both hands or mouth. She is ticklish underneath her arms and likes to be thrown in the air. Nadine just started imitating sneezes. Nadine is learning baby signs and knows about 1-2 signs, but enjoys clapping mostly. Her first word was "dada"

Iyla is very interested in things she shouldn't be (i.e. dog doors, outlets, climbing gates, stairs, Izzie's water bowl). She gives you the cutest smile right before she is about to do something you won't like. Iyla is empathetic when the other two cry. She sits sideways in her feeding chair also. She loves throwing her cup off the table. She dislikes bibs and promptly takes them off. She sucks her thumb. Iyla is a great eater. Iyla loves jumping, bouncing, and hanging upside down. She is ticklish underneath her arms and likes to be thrown in the air. Iyla loves sitting in containers/objects (i.e. boppies, boxes, tunnels, my lap, etc. Iyla is learning baby signs. She is mostly generalizing (does all 5 signs back to back to make sure you understand) the 4-5 signs she knows but about 25% of the time she'll do the right sign. Her first word was "mama"

Denver Paige loves to snuggle and watches/listens intently when you make a new sound. She will be the last one to smile when a new person is introduced to the trio.  She can be very serious, deep in thought, taking in her environment.  She loves to look at books. She loves peekaboo. She is babbling up a storm. Her first word was "mama". She loves clapping for her sisters. Her favorite song is "If you're happy and you know it". She is a great eater. She is the best sleeper and probably the most easy going of the three.

2014 will be the year of the Vitamix! The girls bought it for me for Christmas! They are so thoughtful! We have already made almond butter (twice), roasted red pepper hummus, tomato basil soup, sweet potato pancake mix, margaritas, mango quinoa salad, pumpkin pie filling, salsa, spinach and artichoke dip, and mango pumpkin bread.  I am looking forward to continuing to make the girls' food.

Here is a video of Denver Paige walking

And Iyla going through the tunnel swing MDM and I put up at my clinic this week. She had no fear!
