Eye-opening!!!

This week has been very eye opening for me. I wish I had more pictures to demonstrate my new world of trailblazers and wanderers. Fancy terms, I know! I finally got to read two pages of a parenting book today while I was eating lunch! I think it is time to read more! haha!

My new reality is climbing, exploring the environment, pulling things out of every where and all in three different places at the same time. It is like herding cats. You pick the child heading to the most eminent danger, get them safe, then go after the other one. While you have the 2nd one safe. The first one has figured out what the third is doing and joins them in the mayhem. That's easy because you scoop both of them up in either arm. They are so used to this, they even get into position for you (so thoughtful of them). When your arms are full with two giggling, wiggling girls, you turn around to watch the third one disappear, climb, walk, pull, etc.  You just have to laugh, because if not it can be so overwhelming!!

Here's one example of Iyla!  The past two weeks, Iyla has strongly expressed she wants to work on her gross motor skills. She is climbing everywhere! Tonight Nadine pushed this same piano to the kitchen door entry (no door) and stood up on it to tell Mia she was ready for her night bottle! Time to say good bye to the piano!  I will take pictures this weekend of our revamped playroom to SAFELY focus on climbing and discovery.

Nadine dancing and singing before bed! Love this!!
As I said in a previous blog, they are recognizing MDM on the phone. They now love to watch themselves on video! It is funny to watch them all crowd around the phone and giggle at each other. They love looking at pictures also. We look at a lot of pictures of dada!

My old playgroup supplies

color boxes

Since the girls won't be going to an organized school any time soon and are starting to get bored quickly of their 10 x 10 playroom, I rummaged through all my developmental playgroup stuff in the garage. Note to MDM: this is why I have been saving all this "trash" looking stuff!  Tonight I made a fabric box, ball box, and revamped my discovery sticks (or bop your sister on the head sticks) (made from years of my father's moon calendar clear plastic containers), made some color boxes to start working on some basic Montessori skills (i.e. colors, shapes).
