Southbound!

We traveled to south this weekend to celebrate the renaming of a library in honor of a family friend. We made it there and back with no issues! Packing up the triplets has gotten much easier now that they are older. We still fill up the Suburban. A minivan or smaller SUV could not handle all the triplet love I can pack! I like to pretend the back of the Suburban (and the dishwasher) is like a game of Tetris. lol. My mom had to take over driving the Marshketeer Mobile halfway because I was very tired even though I was drinking coffee.
Nadine and her Great Grandmother
My biggest thrill recently has been seeing the joy on my maternal grandmother's face when holding the triplets. She had a very good friend die this week and she didn't seem as sad and lonely this time. My hope is that she is relishing in spending time with her first great grandchildren.

The girls did fantastic at the library ceremony! We were there for 2 1/2 hours and then stopped by my paternal grandmother's for a very quick visit since the girls were already ready for travel. The girls did very well, but I think my parents got a little tired and stressed from all the excitement. I was just very happy to socialize with friends and get out of the house. The funniest question I got the whole morning was... "Do they all cry at the same time?" No, they are very patient, polite little babies. They take turns crying.

I have had a lot of people ask me how I do it... blah blah blah. Not knowing any different, I just do it. I love being a mom to triplets. I wouldn't change anything about my three little miracles.  But to all the moms of singletons that I see now... I am jealous of you (I was jealous before, but for different reason)... I would love to just grab my one baby and go to HEB or run a quick errand. I would LOVE to fly to St. Louis right now and see MDM. I would love to go to Houston and see my sister's new house.  I know it sounds crazy, but that's how I feel sometimes when I am having to get up 2 hours early for an event so I can get myself and the triplets ready. Full disclosure: this has only happened once, but it was great and I might try it again (insert coffee here).
The girls hanging out with Izzie on guard at the window. I keep telling her the sidewalk is public property. She doesn't get it.

Now that the girls are 5 months old they are really starting to explore their environment and engage with people.
Recent milestones this week:

1. Nadine and Denver Paige grabbed the book my mom was reading

2. Iyla batted at her carseat toy repeatedly.
3. All three hold onto their "lovelies" their great grandmother gave them (pink things in picture above)
4. Wearing #2 diapers and growing out of 3 month clothes!!

  1. It was fun to see you and the girls, especially at the library dedication. I wish I'd gotten a picture of the three of you, each holding one of the girls. Great pictures and descriptions of events.

And I just ordered "Lean In" for Annie--and for my education about your generation!
