The girls got their last round of RSV shots today and so they also got weighed. Denver Paige is the new heavy weight at 11lbs, 1oz; Iyla at 10lbs 15oz and Nadine at 9lbs, 15oz. All very healthy weights for 3.5 months. Iyla saw the pediatrician for concerns about her neck range of motion. We were referred to a fantastic therapy clinic (haha) after I told the pediatrician I wanted to do OT instead of PT. I had already scheduled Iyla in my OT's schedule at 1pm because we have been very busy lately! (Yay!!) She has the most experience with infants. Of course all my therapists are my favorites and the best! Iyla has bilateral tightness of the sternocleidomastoid muscle (see picture for gross anatomy) which can lead to Torticollis so I have been working with her at home and wanting an OT evaluation.
Being on the other side of therapy as a parent was very enlightening. I thought I would be more worried about Iyla's issue, but I know it wouldn't do any good to worry. I learned a lot from Olivia while she worked with Iyla about positioning and stretching. The appointment was during Iyla's nap time so she cried throughout the appointment. Fabulous!
I am glad we started OT and don't see it as a long term thing. My staff is very supportive of the girls.
We are still very concerned about the girls' plegiocephaly and are thinking about helmets. We'll see after I do some research. Enjoy the pictures and good night!
