All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
The Lord God made them all"
The above was written in a Christmas card my parents received this year. I really liked it so I thought I would share it. I made the pictures my dad took this afternoon larger on the blog, so you can really see the girls up close in natural light. Their faces are really filling out as they put on weight.
During my breastfeeding breaks today, I got to visit with some great friends and take a walk with Izzie around the block at a regular walking speed with no pain which I really enjoyed. I also got to show off the new clinic to my sister, brother-in-law, dad, and Izzie. Izzie approved since she got to play fetch during our visit. I am so excited about the new clinic - something I have dreamed about since I was in OT school.
Something happened this afternoon with one of the girls that cemented the fact that I am a mother now and responsible for making decisions for three little people that directly impacts their lives. I am not sure why this hit me now rather than in the NICU, but I think it is because in the NICU you do not have control over what really happens to your child (e.g. someone else is providing the care). I am thankful I kept calm and collected, especially with only 3 hours of sleep last night and 4-5 hours the nights before. I am thankful I had someone here to watch the twins and reassure my decisions. I am so thankful everything turned out to be fine and the reason as to why I am not going into detail to what occurred. God made these three little beautiful girls and bestowed them unto MDM and I and I am so thankful we now have a family. I am very ready for MDM to be home!
Beautiful!
