Step Down NICU Unit!

Yesterday the girls moved to the step down NICU unit for feeders and growers! MDM and I are very happy with their progress. They are looking healthier and their personalities are emerging! I am keeping busy with marathon feedings and pumpings - my new normal. Tomorrow gets interesting with the girls having to pass their next milestone on the "cue based feeding" pathway - they have to breastfeed for 15 minutes in back to back feedings. Which means I get to spend all morning and all night at the NICU. I am feeling more comfortable with handling the girls since I have been spending more and more time with them while breastfeeding.

As far as their personalities, Nadine is pretty calm and easy to feed. Denver Paige is calm and loves to hold on to my fingers while feeding. Iyla has pulled her feeding tube out twice now, is the fastest to latch on and strongest feeder, and loves to hold onto fingers, blankets, etc.

My dad came up this weekend to join my mom and brought his camera into the NICU for some great pictures. He is finishing the cabinets in the master bathroom and all other painting projects this weekend in hopes the girls might come home in the next few weeks.
