Busy Week!

On Monday I flew up to DC to join MDM for his conference. We had a great time together!
My morning run view of the Potomac

The weather was fabulous! I really enjoyed all the sculpture gardens

We had dinner with MDM's residency friend, Amol who is now completing a fellowship in infectious diseases

Wednesday night we took the ferry over to Old Town Alexandria and had a fantastic dinner with Matt and Ginny!  So great to see them!!
My newest project. The side bed next to the driveway. I got tired of looking out the kitchen window at dead grass.
The girls counting our water wise, native plants which happen to bloom pink, blue and purple flowers. hmmm who do you think picked those???  I will post a picture of the completed project. I spent Sunday planting 27 plants which took me most of the girls' nap time. I still need more plants and haven't decided about ground cover.

Saturday morning I gave a talk on the SOS feeding approach to the Alamo South District Texas Occupational Therapy Association. It was very nice to be asked to talk. I am glad it is over though.

Sunday we explored Panther Springs park. It is a very hilly trail especially when you are pushing a 110# stroller uphill. I got a great workout. The trailhead starts at our public library so the girls enjoyed playing on the playground and exercise equipment after we finished the trail.  The weather was fabulous today. Loving October so far. Can't believe it is already October!

Up and Coming
MDM home on the 23rd for the weekend!
The London Marshes come visit that same weekend!
Girls' 3rd Birthday and Mike's back home (for a week) on the 20th and their party is the 21st. They are so excited about their birthday and cake. They love cake.

I cannot believe they are going to be 3!!! They are definitely ready! We are getting close on potty training. So close. If they were singletons we would be already done.  They are not using the booster seats any more and they are growing taller. Nadine and Denver Paige can reach the water dispenser on the fridge and pretty much anything on the counter. They can almost reach the pedals on the tricycle and are moving on quickly to driving the suburban, working as a team of course.  They are using the term sisters much more often and switch off between playing with each other depending on the activity. They can still wear some 18-24 month pants, but are now in 3T shirts/dresses. 3T pants are too big.  We have been blessed with a huge amount of handmedowns from our generous and clothes loving friend Chloe. I haven't had to buy any fall clothes which is so wonderful. I need to stop dressing them and let them do it says the OT in me, but the mom in me just doesn't want to spend 10 minutes on self-dressing when we are spending time on potty training already.
They are into books, trucks (fire and construction), songs, climbing on anything, asking questions, baby dolls, sorting/organizing, helping in the kitchen, animals, colors, building, and puzzles.
Can't wait for you to see their Halloween costumes!
