Pictures from the backyard on Wednesday afternoon.
The girls are obsessed with airplanes. They love pointing them out.
Their Great Aunt Sarah made the girls their first pillows. I gave her their baptism dresses and she made the most beautiful pillows. The girls were so excited about them. They love having them in their cribs.
Bosses' Day was Thursday. Here was the card! I also received wine, a wine tour, and a pedicure. Such a great team we have at PTS!
Okay for the weekend now-----
My 10th grade English honors teacher always said patience is a virtue and it drove us crazy, but this weekend I needed all the patience I could gather plus wipes, diapers, pain reliever, books, and wine.
I'll start with Iyla's story first then add in Nadine and Denver Paige since Iyla's issues started on Monday.
So Monday night I started Iyla on Miralax. I have been worried about her distended tummy and her constipation. Her tummy has been distended for awhile now. Well of course when you start worrying - nothing happens. Wednesday she finally pooped, but it was still not great. Friday the gates opened when they were at school. I felt so bad for her teacher. Luckily they were the only students in the class that day. I fixed the most amazing guaranteed to make you poop lunch also - green peas, almond butter on Ezekial bread, avocado slices, and dried mango,
3 poops at school (9-2:45) and she didn't stop there. The Miralax finally kicked in after increasing her dose on Friday morning.
After a rough night Thursday night with Nadine crying and waking up 4 times. I had second thoughts about letting Nadine go to school, but she woke up Friday morning dancing and sorting clothes (2 favs of hers). I did cancel the trip to CC because of my sleepless nights and Nadine not being 100% and Iyla pooping every hour.
On Friday night, Iyla joined in the nighttime misery and I almost had to call reinforcements. Two screaming toddlers and one refusing to take pain relievers. Enter the ipad for Nadine. Yes, I quickly broke down. Are you surprised? I got one for my birthday and I am quickly learning why they have been so popular for what like 10 years?? My parents have had one for 3 at least. Well it saved me Friday night to occupy Nadine to stop screaming about her ear while I went and got Iyla settled down. Luckily Denver Paige can sleep through anything.
So Saturday morning I took all 3 to the pediatrician for the first time by myself. 9am walk-in appointments. We were there at 9:05 (had to change Iyla's diaper) and was prepared with books, snacks, and water to wait as long as possible. We only had to wait 20 minutes. I love our pediatrician's group! Nadine has horrible left ear infection (pus and all). Iyla is very congested and Denver Paige got a courtesy check because my girls love all things equal. We left to pick up coffee, the prescription, and head to HEB to get more pain reliever and bananas.
I changed 10 (not all Iyla, yes it gets better) poopy diapers on Saturday. I think either Denver Paige and Nadine were sipping on Iyla's special cocktail or WE ALL got a small short lived stomach bug. Fortunately Iyla's tummy has started to go down and she got bananas today. Saturday night I slept well to say the least.
Iyla stacking up the dinner plates. She loves doing this. She'll even bring me the milk cups or take them to the fridge.
Nadine mowing the lawn on Saturday - nothing like yard work in boots makes a girl feel better.
Playing at the local elementary school playground - enclosed, empty and built for 2 year olds!
The girls had a great time and Izzie and I got a run to/from the playground.
Playing fetch with Izzie. Didn't Nadine do just a good job on the yard?
Sunday morning playing with color boxes. I made these for the girls about a year ago and they still love them! We are working on colors and shapes now.
Our driveway is great for racing balls down it then running to go get them. Great exercise on a cool, fall day!
Iyla bringing the balls back!
Hopefully tonight will be restful for all in the house. Denver Paige has been tugging on her ear all day. Awesome. That is one fast spreading infection or she has twin sympathy.
I am really enjoying spending the weekends with the girls. I dearly miss MDM missing all this fun (and sickness). I love being able to catch up on what they have learned during the week while I have been at work. They are getting really good at puzzles and they LOVE music. They love dancing, clapping and learning new songs. They are so ready to be able to jump up and down also. They are so close!
Okay Goodnight! It took a lot of patience to get through this weekend solo with the girls. I am tired and have to get up early to get these girls to school tomorrow. Luckily Mia returns tomorrow afternoon!
31 days till the girls turn 2 which means MDM will be home for a week to celebrate!!
