Birthday Weekend in Corpus

I drove to Corpus this weekend for my last road trip before the triplets arrive and had a great, relaxing birthday weekend with my parents. My dad grilled fantastic filets for my birthday dinner to ensure extra protein for the babies. For dessert we had ice cream cupcakes made by one of my therapists. Yummy!
The wreath and my sash from the Corpus shower this weekend.

I attended a shower given by my mom's friends on Saturday morning which was great fun! My aunt Robin and my maternal grandmother were there also! It was wonderful to catch up with everyone and get motherly wisdom. The theme was Beatrix Potter and they had so much fun decorating and adding small details all over the house. The girls received a plethora of clothes, blankets, toys, bottles, nursing tools, and the Runabout Triple Stroller!  All our friends and family have been so generous in making sure the girls have everything they need!
Yes, I finally decided on a stroller after much research and thought. I have been going back and forth on a triple stroller or a twin and a carrier. I decided on a triple stroller as well as a twin and single umbrella stroller to give me the most flexibility. The umbrella strollers can be hooked together to make a triple stroller.

The Runabout Triplet stroller
The Runabout Triple Stroller is made in Oregon and endorsed by the Triplet Connection, a non-profit I joined. It also is the only stroller I found that can take the triplets from newborn to 5 years of age. It should last 20 years and fits in most SUVs.  I will be able to run or walk with it! Can't wait to show up for my next 10K or 5K with this stroller! lol!  So my dad and mom are going to bring it up this weekend and assemble it.

Here are the Runabout websites:

drizzling rain.
A great thing about visiting home is my mom loves to take Izzie for walks and Izzie has been missing her long walks. It rained a lot while we were in Corpus, but my mom took Izzie on a few walks.  Izzie's Lands End squall jacket is compliments of ACD, Izzie's fashionable aunt. She always makes sure Izzie has an outfit for every occasion.

Izzie also got to visit my paternal grandmother, Dee who enjoyed hearing about the upcoming triplet arrival and seeing Izzie. Izzie enjoyed eating Dee's cookie crumbs off her carpet. Dee said I would have my hands full with three babies. We also told her that the great grand babies will be using the bassinet she bought for her youngest child almost 60 years ago that has been passed down in the family. I am loving all the items (e.g. dresser made by my dad, giraffe rocker, framed pictures, stuffed animals, bassinet, and a table/chairs made by my dad) the girls will be using that have been in the family for so long.  We also are using a bassinet MDM used as a baby!

The babies are moving more and more every day and night! It is a very weird feeling when they all move simultaneously.  They move more after I have eaten or at night around 10pm. I know I am in for trouble already!
