Triplet Flu Trifecta!

The girls all got the flu type A this week. They got their flu shots in October. It hit Nadine the hardest  on Monday with lots of nausea and high fever so she got the doctor visit and flu test, but by Monday night Denver Paige had fever. I think she had a fever on Sunday during soccer but rallied, but not enough to go to school. It hit Iyla on Tuesday but not too bad. Denver Paige got it the worst. She was out of school from Monday to Friday. Nadine went back to school on Thursday along with Iyla. Denver Paige was fever free on Thursday but then she woke up with 101 Friday morning. Nadine relapsed this weekend and spent most of the weekend taking naps on the couch.  The highest fever taken was Nadine's at 102.5. I stayed home all week with the girls.

Thursday we ventured to the Discovery class at Parman since everyone was fever free and feeling good. They created clay hearts, thaumatropes and checked out more books.

FaceTime with Mimi (MDM's mom) before she had surgery on Thursday. Surgery went well and we are praying for fast recovery.

Me - very tired Friday afternoon in the pediatrician's office holding a urine sample cup for Denver Paige who kept complaining of pain when she urinated and she had a fever. She never peed in the cup at the pediatrician's office so we went home to complete the test. Saturday morning she woke up with fever and a very red, swollen 5th digit where she had scraped her knuckle from a fall about 2 weeks ago. It was very infected so we returned to the pediatrician's office that morning. I love their 9-11 am (Saturday) and 3-4 pm (weekdays) walk-in clinic. Obviously, we are taking full advantage of those in the last 24 hours. So Denver Paige gave a urine culture and skin culture for Saturday morning fun. Neg on the UTI and still awaiting the skin infection results. She is on antibiotics now.

By a miracle, MDM and I made it to the Kinetic Kids 5K race Saturday morning after leaving the girls with Kristen, our nanny. This was the first time in 5 years the girls have not done the race with me, but it was 37 degrees and raining! So cold!

On Saturday the girls got their early Valentine and getting over the flu (might have been too early for that) present. They are so excited about the bar! And as you can see in the picture Iyla is getting her arm in full extension now. I've been stretching it a lot.

While her sisters still recovered on Sunday, Iyla helped me paint a sign for a dear patient who is turning 2 this week.

Our 5th soccer game was canceled this week because the fields were so wet and it was cold. The girls were not going to play anyway. It was nice to have a quiet day of rest at home.  Hoping everyone will be at school tomorrow so I can be back at work.
Two weeks till I move my Schertz office so there is lots to do!
