Our longest vacation to date had its ups and downs. We arrived at the Lighthouse Saturday and left Wednesday. It was rainy and windy most of the trip, but we made the most of it. MDM got very sick Saturday night. We went to CC Monday morning to get an Xray and CT scan. Fortuitously, my parents had already planned to stay through Monday so they watched the girls. MDM and I left the Lighthouse during 35-40 mph wind and rain on a boat ride. It was the start to a fun day! We got to the suburban in Port A and it wreaked of urine. Back to our Saturday road trip... We only have 2 carseat covers... I chose the wrong. Haha. While we were waiting for MDM's results, we detailed the interior of the suburban... so fun.
Our family has a fantastic history of taking the obligatory Big House steps big picture. Happy we got it take it this week. Tried to get Izzie in the picture.
At the beach! lol They will hate us for this picture when they get older but it was blowing 30 mph and cloudy. MDM was nauseous most the day and no one felt like going to the beach.
Nadine and Iyla
Pool Shark in the making!!
We caught croakers, sheepshead, squid, baby flounder, catfish, shrimp, etc. So much fun!!
MDM trying out the casting net!
The Lighthouse keeper treated us to a Dolphin tour! The girls loved it!
Happy girls!
Touch tank on the boat! Iyla grabbed the squid!
MDM needed some rest and MD care on Wednesday/Thursday so we moved our crew from the Lighthouse to CC. I took the girls to the Texas State Aquarium for some distraction. It was fun seeing all the fish we just saw out in the wild. The splash pad was the major hit!!
What you won't see in the pictures is the difficulty we are having with potty training. I mentioned it lightly in the last blog entry, but it continued. MDM and I are still trying to figure out the "why" speculating it could be MDM's visit that threw Iyla and Denver Paige off, but whatever it was I hope it is resolved. I am very hopeful they will get on track again.
We had a wonderful time with MDM while he was here celebrating Mother's day and his birthday! He'll be back for Memorial Day Weekend.
