A long rainy weekend

UThe girls and I were home this weekend for a lots of rain and playing. At times I got frustrated and at times I couldn't get enough of the girls.

Obviously the frustrating one is much harder to understand because we have the cutest girls. Picture it... Sunday morning - trip to HEB before churchgoers get out and head to HEB with all their family members. Girls were fantastic at HEB. We got home and they started playing various pretend play with each other very well.  (Bonus #546 of having triplets- instant playmates). I was making lunch. NEM and DPM now use the bathroom independently and yell if they need help. Well NEM failed to mention an overflowing toilet and plunging attempt. I found this out after I served them a gourmet lunch of homemade zucchini tortillas and eggs and used the bathroom myself. I had planned to eat lunch with them since I miss this non-stressful activity of family bonding during the week. They all tried the zucchini tortillas, but didn't compliment the chef. Well I ended up cleaning up the bathroom and joining them at the end of lunch.
While I was eating, Iyla finished and while following directions to go get ready for nap time, she peed on the stairs. Her 5th accident of the day. I tolerate her BM accidents really well, but she shouldn't be having urine accidents now at 3.5 yrs.  I was a little frustrated. Then they all had to use the potty in the room even though they just had used the potty 2 minutes ago before they got into bed.  The toilet in the room is new and the novelty has not worn off. Iyla then decides to test me on my patience in a variety of creative, but annoying ways. The routine is that I lay on the floor till they fall asleep for naps. It is a sacrifice of 20 minutes that gives me 2 hours of freedom later. I was beyond frustrated at this point. I had taken away her lovey, side seat (window seat in the car - a big deal right now) and nothing phased her. She stops crying and tells me the best way to help her fall asleep - be in bed with DPM. Sigh. Both girls fell asleep instantly and NEM was elated I was lying beside her.

Now I am typing away, drinking a beer, watching the rain, and wishing I was sitting on a Caribbean beach with MDM.

Here are some pictures from this week....
Iyla at swimming. Started using goggles!
They can reach the faucet in their bathroom now. Door knobs safety knobs are helping.
