Getting creative!

Before I became an OT, I taught art classes and assisted with developmental playgroups - all that creativity I used back then in New Orleans is coming in very handy when the girls need some extra entertainment during the day! It is too hot during the day to go on a walk and going out in public is too much of a hassle - impossible for one person. Lately they have been craving so much movement and stimulation. They get bored quickly in their gated community. Using your sister to pull up on or stealing her toy gets old quickly. So I have been getting creative at home to entertain the trio! 

 Before dinner laundry basket rides - a great upper body workout pushing around almost 60lbs!  They loved this and everyone managed to stay in! Nadine (yellow), Denver Paige (pink), Iyla (blue)

This afternoon I decided to finger paint with the girls! We then read a book about Matisse - a favorite of my past art classes.  It was fun! I think their first project tells a lot about their emerging personalities.

The result of avoiding naps all day -> you fall asleep at dinner. This is a regular occurrence for us - especially with Nadine. She does not like sleeping. Denver Paige will sleep through the night and takes 2 long naps during the day. For the most part Iyla sleeps through the night and takes 2 naps during the day. Nadine is the most likely to wake up at night, hungry or wet, and does not like to nap.
