Living the Singleton Life!

So my mom decided to really celebrate the 4th of July she needed to be home with my dad. So she twinnapped Denver Paige and Nadine! Iyla and I are here living the singleton life till Friday afternoon. Will we leave to join the others down South? Not sure?!?! It took a lot of planning on my part to pack up two and leave one here. That is a lot of counting, dividing, and list making. Apparently tonight went well in CC since they are equally numbered. Nadine even enjoyed her sweet potatoes and chicken!

Iyla and I of course are having fun together! We went straight to the office, then got the oil changed on the car! Can you spell F-U-N??  She looks like she is having a ball answering the phone below.  Tomorrow we plan to go for a long run in our borrowed single jogger (thank you Grace!), get coffee, and write long over due evaluations for work! Sounds like a very productive day to me! I'm so excited I finally got to make my own laundry detergent tonight! I am already tired of buying 2 different detergents (1 baby/1 adult) and remembering what I am washing; usually it is baby clothes.

So I am sure the burning question on your mind is how did I pick Iyla to stay with me? Medical issues of course! hahaha! I think she was the one who was sleeping at the time. lol. #1 reason:  thought it would be better for her to be near the orthotist if anything did happen with the helmet. We've been having lots of redness because of the heat and she is so much more active now. #2 reason: Iyla is demonstrating the 8-9 month (she's so advanced) skill of stranger anxiety (seen in the picture below - a little unsure). I had a little anxiety about them leaving, but it quickly passed when I thought about maybe sleeping past 7am tomorrow and getting a nap. Did I mention Iyla loves to sleep? Now do you know the #3 reason?  I also remembered I've been away from all of them for the first month when they were in the NICU. Denver Paige and I had one night together alone - See post here.  Nadine's turn will be next! I think it will be good for them each to get some alone time with their mom and/or dad. I know it will be nice to pretend to be a singleton for a short time. Iyla's feeding and bedtime routine went so quickly tonight!

  1. I've really been wondering how Iyla felt without the others! She looks happy to be with her mom--the "only"! All your reasons sound good, especially about sleep. Glad you can experience what it's like to be taking care of ONE baby, even for a few days.
